The Dork Group Presents David Gumm's Résumé Presentation Video
Greetings and welcome to a very unique Dork Group Publication. During this past year I have focused on enhancing and improving my personal brand. In some aspects it has been a very good decision, and I am very happy with its outcome so far. But, in doing so there has been one element I have overlooked. Branding myself.
Lately, I have been pretty unsatisfied with presenting myself with just print media. I have had many discussions with hiring managers who seem to have different thoughts when composing my identity with résumés. Some saying that I am adding too little information, while others are telling me that I am putting in too much. It's very frustrating. If you have been to one of my websites recently, you have probably come across a few versions of my résumé. Every time I send one of these résumés I always think I could have added more. I think that the person that is reading my résumé has no concept on earth on what I can truly do for them.
So, during this past week I have decided to put together this video, and I believe with this type of presentation it will bring you a bit closer to what I have done in the past, and what I can bring to the table now. Plus, who doesn't like videos? Especially good ones.

Résumé Presentation Video
I wanted to merge other aspects of my career in this presentation, such as my military background and so on, but time is a critical element when appealing to a diverse audience. Keeping this in mind I chose to focus on a quick and clean presentation.
I am currently seeking a place in the graphic design field. It's something that I love and very passionate about. But, if you have looked at my career time-line you will see that it is diverse and covers a lot of top-tier organizations that aren't necessarily in the art world. I've come to realize that I am just as comfortable in an office environment carrying out projects in the administrative world as I am putting together a piece of art. And in a way - they are the same.
I've been acclimatized to keep my eyes and ears open, and that when you open one door - it will always lead you to another. And if you look closer at my career time-line you will see that I was with these top-tier organizations at very pinnacle points in their time. I would like to think that I helped them get to the next level.
So, if you are a recruiter, I would love to hear from you. And if you are a friend or colleague - I welcome you to pass this along to anyone you know who is a recruiter or head-hunter, and perhaps spread the word that I am actively seeking a place in these fields.
In the meantime, I will be further expanding my Video Production Portfolio and Still Media Portfolio along with my other social media websites. So be sure to check back often to see what's new.
I greatly appreciate and thank you for your time - and I wish you the best with all that you do.
I will see you all again very soon.
